RHIANA GRIFFITH
ACTRESS
THIS Hunter Valley actress continues to juggle both an art and acting career.
She featured in an episode of Prime's All Saints this week and has had a big screen role opposite Hollywood star Vin Diesel.
Griffith, who has learned not to rely on acting alone, is also a promising young artist with exhibitions at Tighes Hill Gallery and in Sydney.
As a child she began modelling and doing catalogue ads for children's clothing. At the age of 13, she won the ModelQuest98 grand final in the 12-to-15-year-old division.
Griffith's modelling successes resulted in her being auditioned for acting roles in commercials and she soon scored a small part in the television show Children's Hospital.
From there she went on to play Mercia in the World War II film 15 Amore.
She made her big screen debut soon after, starring opposite Vin Diesel in the science-fiction hit Pitch Black.
She has had parts on television dramas including Home And Away and White Collar Blue.
Griffith's latest film, Dark Fury, the animated sequel to Pitch Black, was released this year.
The 19-year-old attended Avondale High at Cooranbong.
THE RESTAURANT
I like Benjamas Thai Restaurant on Darby Street.
THE MEAL
If it's Thai I always order a chicken skewer with peanut satay sauce and the red panang curry with tofu. Otherwise I'll go for anything with smoked salmon.
THE DRINK
Peppermint tea or I will buy a nice red to go with my Thai.
THE COMPANY
If I'm having dinner in Newcastle it will probably be with my folks Sue and Graeme, brother Damien, my boyfriend Ben and his parents Stan and Diana Wollen.
